Micheil received his L.L.B. from Queen's University in 1993 and was called to the Bar in 1995. Since that time, he has practiced exclusively in the field of union side labour and employment law. He articled with CaleyWray before joining the firm as an Associate in 1995. He has been a partner at the firm for several years.

Micheil is married and lives in Toronto with his two children. In his free time, Micheil enjoys travel, skiing and playing hockey.
