Robert works on each file to achieve the best result for his clients in the most efficient manner. He is a highly-skilled and effective litigator but is also committed to resolving matters where possible without engaging in costly and lengthy court litigation.
He is particularly proud of the following results:
- Effectively defending a union against an attack on its lawful strike action;
- Reinstating a dismissed worker without the need for a hearing due to the employer’s flagrant disregard for the collective agreement;
- Winning an Ontario Labour Relations Board hearing on the composition of a bargaining unit in one day, a proceeding that typically takes several days.
Robert’s labour law practice covers a wide range of issues. He has particular expertise in construction labour law, labour grievance arbitration, and professional regulation. He represents clients before arbitrators and administrative tribunals.
Prior to joining CaleyWray in 2016, he practiced labour law and criminal law at a union-side labour firm in Toronto.
